GTA 6 release date and launch time
What is the exact GTA 6 release date?
Thursday, November 19, 2026, a week after pre-load opens. Rockstar set it on November 6, 2025, Take-Two repeated it in August 2026, and on October 15, 2026 Rockstar repeated it again with the Launch Trailer. rockstargames.com/VI reads "Coming November 19, 2026". Details: GTA 6 release date.
How many times was GTA 6 delayed?
Twice. The original window was 2025. On May 2, 2025 it moved to May 26, 2026, and on November 6, 2025 to November 19, 2026. Both times Rockstar gave the same reason, more time for polish. Both announcements were Rockstar Newswire posts.
Is GTA 6 delayed again?
No. On October 15, 2026 Rockstar wrote that GTA VI "arrives November 19", and both earlier delays were announced in 2025. Every move of the date with Rockstar's wording: GTA 6 delays timeline.
Is there a GTA 6 trailer 3?
No video is called Trailer 3. The newest is the Launch Trailer, which Rockstar released on October 15, 2026; the media page on rockstargames.com/VI lists it first of four videos. Before it came Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and An Extended Look; all four are compared on our GTA 6 trailers page. Rockstar has not said whether another video comes before launch.
What time does GTA 6 come out on November 19?
Rockstar hasn't said. Fan tables based on PlayStation Store timestamps point to midnight local time by store region, which spreads the start over about 19 hours worldwide. That is store data and can change. Our time zone guide has the table.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
From local midnight on November 12, 2026, according to Rockstar Support. The PlayStation Store describes it as "7-day pre-load access". A code from a boxed copy pre-loads once it is redeemed. Rockstar has not published the download size, so plan for free space without a target number.
GTA 6 price, editions and pre-order
What is in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
In Rockstar's words, "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action" spread across Jason and Lucia's story. The Rockstar Store list includes a '95 Grotti Cheetah, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City styles and a Classic Car Collection, plus several mod shops, stores and a tattoo parlor. On Xbox the upgrade from Standard costs $20.00. Side by side: GTA 6 editions compared.
What is the GTA 6 pre-order bonus?
The Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan with a garage, outfits and hairstyles, and a weapon pattern. Both editions get it if bought before November 20, 2026. The Xbox Store puts the cutoff at 23:59:59 on November 19.
Does a GTA 6 pre-order come with GTA+?
Digital pre-orders get one free month of GTA+. Today GTA+ is a GTA Online membership: by Rockstar's GTA+ page it pays GTA$500,000 each billing period and adds a library of older Rockstar games. It renews automatically unless you cancel. On PlayStation it must be activated by March 31, 2027; on Xbox within 180 days. Step by step: how to pre-order GTA 6.
Can I cancel or refund a GTA 6 pre-order?
It depends on where you bought it. According to Rockstar Support, a boxed copy pre-ordered from the Rockstar Store is cancelled through Xsolla, following Xsolla's steps. Refund questions for purchases made anywhere else "should be directed to the retailer where you purchased" the game.
Is there a GTA 6 disc?
No: the box holds a download code, not a disc. Boxes ship and are ready for pickup from November 12 (expected); details are in our GTA 6 physical edition guide.
Can you buy GTA 6 in Russia or Kazakhstan?
There is no official answer. The Rockstar Store, opened from a Kazakhstan address, shows "This title is unavailable in your country or region", and Russia and Kazakhstan are not in the country lists of Rockstar Support's Pre-Order Details. The same article says "GTAVI will be made available in additional countries as allowed by platform policies, regional regulations, and age ratings." Russia's playstation.com game page redirected to a support page on October 18; we have not checked the Xbox Store for these countries, so we promise neither a price nor availability. Prices in rubles or tenge have not been published.
Platforms, PC and cloud
Is GTA 6 coming to PS4 or Xbox One?
No. Only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are announced, and the PlayStation page confirms there is no PS4 version. An Xbox One badge on the generic Xbox hub page is a site template, not an announcement.
Is GTA 6 PS5 Pro Enhanced?
Yes. The PlayStation Store UK marks the game "PS5 PRO ENHANCED". Rockstar has not named a frame rate or a resolution for PS5 Pro or for any other console.
Is there a GTA 6 mobile version?
No. Rockstar has announced no phone or tablet version. Apps and sites offering "GTA 6 for Android" or "GTA 6 in your browser" are fakes.
Will GTA 6 be on Nintendo Switch 2?
Nothing announced. Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard told Variety on October 9, 2026 that it is "a conversation for Take Two and Rockstar", with "nothing to announce on my end at this time".
Can I stream GTA 6 to a PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming?
No. Xbox's Matthew Ball wrote on October 7 that "the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC". Whether it streams to consoles at launch has not been said. What we know about a PC version: GTA 6 on PC.
GTA 6 map and characters
Where is GTA 6 set?
In Vice City, USA, and the surrounding region Rockstar calls Leonida. Rockstar's site singles out six areas: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, all covered in our GTA 6 map guide. Rockstar's tagline: "The darkest side of the sunniest place in America." Game Informer reports more than 170 animal species, from flamingos and manatees to alligators, and weather with tropical storms and seasonal hurricanes.
Who are the main characters in GTA 6?
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar describes Jason as someone who grew up around grifters, served in the Army and ended up working for drug runners in the Keys. Lucia has just come out of Leonida Penitentiary and wants the good life her mother dreamed of since their days in Liberty City. Rockstar's site also introduces Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, the duo Real Dimez, bank robber Raul Bautista and old-school smuggler Brian Heder. All of them: GTA 6 characters.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Unknown. Rockstar has never given a size. "Twice as big as GTA V" is a press estimate, and we found no Rockstar source for it.
Gameplay, online and GTA+
Does GTA 6 have a first-person mode?
Not a full one at launch, according to Rob Nelson of Rockstar North as quoted by Beebom: the game is built around third person, and first person appears only when aiming some weapons. Rockstar has not posted this itself.
How many radio stations does GTA 6 have?
Six have been shown so far, out of what Rockstar calls "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet". The series also gets on-demand podcasts for the first time. The original score is by the duo Justice (see the next answer). All six with their hosts: GTA 6 radio stations.
What song is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
New music from Justice, the electronic duo Rockstar calls "composers of the original score from Grand Theft Auto VI". The post also points to the duo's new standalone single, "Flower in a Hurricane" feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It is on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, out November 19: you can pre-save it on streaming services or pre-order vinyl or CD at gtavi-thealbum.com.
Does GTA 6 have online multiplayer?
Not at launch, as far as anything official goes. Rockstar calls GTA VI "a single player experience", and both stores list it as single-player. Still, ESRB and both stores mark "In-Game Purchases", and Rockstar hasn't explained that label. More: GTA 6 online.
Is GTA 6 cross-platform?
Crossplay has not been announced. The PlayStation Store UK lists the game as "1 player" with "Offline play enabled", and Rockstar has announced no online mode for GTA VI, so there is nothing to play across platforms yet.
Is GTA Online on GTA 5 shutting down?
No sign of it. On August 7, 2026 Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said "we do expect to support GTA Online going forward". Updates keep coming, with October 2026 events posted on Newswire.
Age rating and languages
Is GTA 6 rated differently in Europe and Australia?
Yes, by a year: ESRB M is 17+ in North America, while on October 18, 2026 the PlayStation Store showed PEGI 18 in the UK, USK 18 in Germany and R 18+ in Australia. Every rating with its source is in our GTA 6 age rating guide.
Which languages does GTA 6 support?
The Rockstar Store lists 13. The list doesn't say which get voice-over.

|---|---|
| Europe | English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Russian |
| Americas | Spanish (Mexico), Portuguese (Brazil) |
| Asia | Japanese, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional |
What usually goes wrong: leaks, fakes and old dates
Are the leaked GTA 6 videos real?
They are unauthorized clips from a work-in-progress build, and Rockstar has confirmed nothing in them. In August 2026 Rockstar called the leaks "heartbreaking" and asked players to wait for November 19. Rockstar's own words: "this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time". Take-Two has since gone to court in New York to get account details from Microsoft and Discord.
Can I download GTA 6 today?
No. The only real download is the pre-load from local midnight on November 12, through the console store, for people who already bought the game. Any "GTA 6 download" for PC, Android or browser game portals is a fake, and you have no way of knowing what it really installs.
Beyond those two, the same mistakes come up again and again:
- Searching "GTA 6 release date" and landing on a 2025 article. Old pages still say "May 26, 2026". Only November 19, 2026 is valid.
- Trusting a launch hour. Store timestamps can move, and Rockstar hasn't announced one.
- Downloading a "PC version". There is none. Anything offering one is a fake installer.
- Buying from a random key site. Rockstar names the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Store and established retailers as places to pre-order. Anywhere else, check that the listing names the edition and the bonuses before you pay.
- Forgetting the GTA+ renewal. The free month turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel it. Put a reminder in your calendar for the day it would renew.
