GTA 6 comes in two editions, Standard and Ultimate, and the difference is $20 and a list of in-game extras. In the US Standard costs $79.99 and Ultimate $99.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Ultimate adds 16 items from Rockstar's comparison table, from a '95 Grotti Cheetah to Vice City Styles clothing and several businesses. The last row is a small but useful detail. Rockstar's media page holds 51 screenshots tagged Ultimate Edition and 12 for the Vintage Vice City Pack, so you can look at the extras before paying for them.
Everything in the Ultimate Edition
Rockstar's own description: "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story." Here is the full list from the Compare Editions table, in Rockstar's order and spelling:

Rockstar has not published a description of each line, so we read them by name only. Four are clearly vehicles (the Cheetah, the Dominator Buggy, the safehouse vehicles, the Classic Car Collection). Two are weapons. Two sound like clothing lines. Six look like places: two mod shops, a salon, a clothing store, a tattoo parlor and a compound. "Ganado Retro Build" and "Shitzu Squalo" are not explained by their names, and we will not guess.
One thing the store FAQ does explain: the Ultimate items are "threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter." In other words, you do not get the whole pile in the first hour. It opens up as the story moves.
What does not change between editions
The $20 does not buy more game. Both editions have the same story with Jason and Lucia, the same Leonida, the same release date and the same platforms. Both get the Vintage Vice City Pack ('55 Vapid Stanier Sedan with a garage, outfits and hairstyles, a weapon pattern) when bought before November 20. Both get the free GTA+ month when pre-ordered digitally from PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Both pre-load from November 12 and install the same game; our file size and pre-load guide covers the storage side. And both launch on November 19, 2026.
Languages are shared too. The Rockstar Store lists 13 language options for the game, Russian among them, and the list is not split by edition. If your language is supported, Standard has it.
Is GTA 6 Ultimate Edition worth it?
That depends on how you play, so here are three typical players rather than one verdict.
You play the story once and move on. Take Standard. The extras are cosmetic and convenience items spread across the campaign. You will finish the story either way, and $20 is a quarter of what the game itself costs.
You live in the garage and the wardrobe. Ultimate makes sense. Four of the sixteen lines are cars or car sets, two more are mod shops, and two sound like clothing lines. If customizing is half the fun for you, that list is aimed at you, and the 51 official screenshots let you check before buying.
You cannot decide yet. On Xbox, buy Standard: the Ultimate Edition Upgrade costs exactly $20, so $79.99 now plus $20 later equals the $99.99 Ultimate price, and you lose nothing by waiting. On PS5 the upgrade is listed but showed "Unavailable" on October 11, so there the safe choice is to decide before you buy.

Is there a GTA 6 collector's edition?
No, not one with the game. On September 24, 2026 Rockstar opened orders for the Vice City Collection, a merchandise box, and its own post says "Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately". The box holds 11 items:
- a 6-inch Macca the Gator figure with a hidden compartment;
- Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses;
- a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback;
- a magnetic Macca mirror and a Vice City swizzle spoon;
- a blade-style keychain and a Leonida Keys bag;
- a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass and a tin of Leonida Keys pins;
- stickers and a double-sided poster with the map of Leonida.
It arrives on November 19 while supplies last, and Rockstar told buyers in Asia, Latin America and Australia to "stay tuned". We are not printing a price: the store page we opened did not show one.
Can you upgrade to Ultimate later?
On Xbox Series X|S, yes. The Xbox Store sells "Ultimate Edition Upgrade" for $20.00. On PS5 the US PlayStation Store lists "Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade" as an add-on, but on October 11, 2026 it was marked "Unavailable" with no price. It may open closer to launch; until it does, PS5 players who want Ultimate should buy Ultimate. The boxed version is Standard content; Rockstar says box owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade once their code is redeemed, as our GTA 6 physical edition page explains. What usually goes wrong
Looking for Ultimate on a disc. There is no disc in any GTA 6 box. Per Rockstar Support, there is no boxed Ultimate either, but once the code from the box is redeemed you can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade; details are on our GTA 6 physical edition page.
Mixing up the pre-order bonus and Ultimate. The '55 Stanier, the outfits and the weapon pattern are the Vintage Vice City Pack. Standard buyers get it too, as long as they buy before November 20.
Buying the Vice City Collection box for the game. The box is merchandise. The game is sold separately.
Expecting every Ultimate item on day one. Rockstar says new items appear chapter by chapter.
Upgrading after November 20 and expecting a new bonus. Rockstar ties the Vintage pack to buying the game before November 20. We have not seen any wording about upgrades and bonuses, so do not count on the upgrade adding anything beyond the 16 Ultimate items.

What is the difference between GTA 6 Standard and Ultimate?

Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate?
