Not announced. There is no GTA 6 PC release date: Rockstar has confirmed the game for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and as of October 11, 2026 there is no PC version, no Steam page and no PC requirements. The only PC-related words on record come from Take-Two's CEO in September and an Xbox executive in October, and neither of them promises a GTA 6 PC release. If you play on PC, the honest plan is to watch the official GTA 6 release date page for news and ignore any shop that sells a "PC key".

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Nobody has said yes or no. The official site at rockstargames.com/VI shows "Coming November 19, 2026", a "Plays Best On PlayStation 5" badge and two platforms. The Xbox Store card for the game says "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S" and mentions neither PC nor cloud.
The closest thing to a hint came on September 17, 2026, at the Take-Two shareholder meeting. Strauss Zelnick said the "PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time" and that the strategy is "to launch for any platforms for which there's a meaningful audience". Game Rant reported the remarks two days later.
Read that carefully. Zelnick talked about the company, not about GTA VI. He gave no date, no year and no platform list. GTA IV, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 all reached PC after their console launches, so expecting a PC version one day is reasonable. Planning a hardware purchase around a date nobody has given is not.
How long past Rockstar PC ports took
Release dates below are taken from the Wikipedia release tables for each game; the gap column is our own arithmetic.

Two details people forget. GTA V's PC version slipped on its own, after the console launch, and Rockstar cited extra time for polish before it arrived on April 14, 2015. Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC through the Rockstar Games Launcher and other stores in November 2019 and landed on Steam only in December.
Game Rant ran the same comparison in September 2026 and arrived at 19 and about 12 months. If GTA 6 followed the RDR2 pattern, a PC version would land around late 2027. That is a pattern, not a plan, and Rockstar has broken its own patterns twice already with GTA 6: the delays timeline shows the console date moving from 2025 to May 26, 2026 and then to November 19, 2026.
Can you play GTA 6 on PC through the cloud?
Not according to Xbox. In early October 2026 The Verge reported that Xbox had secured exclusive rights to stream GTA 6 through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Plenty of readers took that as "GTA 6 on PC via the cloud on day one".
On October 7, Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball corrected it on X: "We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC." Shacknews quotes the post and links the original report.
What that leaves unknown:
- whether GTA 6 will be in Xbox Cloud Gaming at all, for example streamed to Xbox consoles;
- whether any other cloud service, such as GeForce NOW or PlayStation's cloud streaming, will carry it;
- when any of that could happen.
None of these points is announced by Xbox, Sony or Rockstar. Treat any "GTA 6 on GeForce NOW" headline as speculation until the service's own catalog lists the game.
Steam, Rockstar Launcher and pre-orders on PC
There is nothing to pre-order on PC. Every store that takes GTA 6 pre-orders today, from PlayStation Store to Rockstar Store, sells the PS5 or Xbox Series version. A Steam store search for "Grand Theft Auto VI" on October 11 returned only the Definitive Edition of Vice City.
Microsoft Store is the trap here. It sells to both Xbox and Windows, so a Microsoft Store pre-order looks like a PC order. It is not: the product page lists Xbox Series X|S as the only platform. Is GTA 6 coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
Nothing to announce. Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard told Variety on October 9, 2026: "That's going to be a conversation for Take Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time." GoNintendo carried the quote.
That is a polite non-answer, not a denial and not a tease. Rockstar's own site lists two platforms. Until it lists three, Switch 2 is in the same bucket as PC: possible one day, unannounced today. PS4, Xbox One and phones are covered in GTA 6 on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and mobile.
What usually goes wrong
"2027" gets repeated as a fact. Symptom: a video or article states a PC year with confidence. Cause: someone added 12 months to the console date, the way Game Rant did, and the caveat fell off in retelling. Fix: look for a Rockstar Newswire post. If there is none, the year is a guess.
The Xbox hub page is read as proof. Symptom: a screenshot of xbox.com showing "Windows 10/11" and "Xbox One" next to GTA VI. Cause: the general game hub at xbox.com/games/grand-theft-auto-vi uses a template with standard badges. The actual store card lists one platform, Xbox Series X|S. Fix: trust the store card and rockstargames.com/VI, not the hub.
Someone buys a "GTA 6 PC key". Symptom: a cheap key from a reseller, sometimes with a "pre-release" or "beta" label. Cause: there is no PC product, so no legitimate PC key exists. Fix: do not pay. If you already did, ask the marketplace for a refund before the window closes.
PC players wait for the cloud on launch day. Symptom: plans to stream GTA 6 to a laptop on November 19. Cause: the cloud report was corrected by Xbox on October 7. Fix: plan for a console, or plan to wait.

The leaked footage that has circulated since August 2026 does not change this table: it is a leak, and Rockstar has not confirmed anything from it.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not announced. Rockstar lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026. Take-Two's CEO said in September 2026 that PC matters more and more to the company, but he did not say anything about a GTA VI PC version.
When will GTA 6 be on PC?
