GTA 6 is announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, out November 19, 2026. Sony's store says it "is not playable on PlayStation 4"; Xbox One, Switch 2, phones and PC have no announced version.
That has been the platform list from the start. Rockstar's first trailer post in December 2023 named "PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S", and the official site still shows those two. The only official way to put GTA 6 on a phone or laptop screen at launch is PS Remote Play from your own PS5. Our GTA 6 countdown shows how long is left until launch in your time zone.

Short answer
- PS4: no. The PlayStation Store lists PS5 only and says the game "is not playable on PlayStation 4".
- Xbox One: no version announced. The Xbox Store card lists Xbox Series X|S only.
- Switch and Switch 2: nothing announced. Nintendo of America has "nothing to announce".
- iPhone and Android: no mobile version announced. An app called "GTA 6" in a phone store is not Rockstar's game.
- PC: not announced, no date.
- Remote Play: the PS5 version can be streamed from your own console to a phone, a PC or a PS Portal.

The difference between "No" and "Not announced" matters. For PS4 there is a direct statement on Sony's own store page. For everything else there is simply no announcement, which can change, but nobody official has hinted at a date.
PS4 and Xbox One
The PS4 answer is the clearest one on this page. The US PlayStation Store page for GTA VI lists PS5 as the platform and says, word for word, "The game is not playable on PlayStation 4." So there is no PS4 version to pre-order, download or upgrade from. GTA 6 needs a PS5 or a PS5 Pro.
Xbox One works the same way in practice, with softer wording. The Xbox Store card has one platform, Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar's site names the same two console families. Playing through Xbox Cloud Gaming on an Xbox One is not announced either. What each current console gets is compared in our GTA 6 on PS5 vs Xbox Series guide.
Switch and Switch 2
Nintendo was asked directly. Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard told Variety on October 9, 2026: "That's going to be a conversation for Take Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time." GoNintendo quotes the interview.
That is neither a yes nor a no. Rockstar's site lists two platforms, and neither is a Nintendo console. Until a third one appears there, GTA 6 on Switch 2 stays unannounced, and on the original Switch there is not even a hint.
Phones: iPhone and Android
Rockstar has announced no mobile version. Rockstar's site lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and nothing for iOS or Android.
There is one official route to a phone screen. The GTA VI page in the PlayStation Store says "Remote Play supported", and Sony's PS Remote Play app streams games from your PS5 to iPhone and iPad (iOS 14 or later) and to Android phones and tablets (Android 9 or later). Sony recommends a connection of at least 15 Mbps. The console does the work, so you still need a PS5 and your own copy of the game; the phone is a screen and a controller.
PC and the cloud
A PC version is not announced and has no date. Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick said at the September 17, 2026 shareholder meeting that PC is "becoming more and more important to our company over time", without naming GTA VI, as Game Rant reported on September 19. The history of Rockstar's PC ports and what that suggests is in our GTA 6 PC release guide, and our GTA 6 system requirements page shows that every "PC requirements" table online is made up, since Rockstar has published none.
For the cloud, Xbox's Matthew Ball wrote on October 7, 2026 that the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC". Whether it appears in Xbox Cloud Gaming in any form is not announced. Sony's Remote Play app also runs on PC and Mac, so a PS5 owner can stream their own copy to a computer.
What usually goes wrong
Pre-ordering "GTA 6 for PS4". Sign: a seller or a listing offers a PS4 version. Cause: there is none; Sony's store page says the game is not playable on PS4. Fix: do not pay, and if you already have, ask the seller for a refund.
Installing a "GTA 6 mobile" app or APK. Sign: a file or an app that promises GTA 6 on Android or iPhone. Cause: Rockstar has announced no phone version, so whatever it is, it is not GTA 6, and files from outside the official app stores can harm your phone. Fix: do not install it; if you want GTA 6 on a phone screen, use Remote Play from a PS5.
Taking Xbox hub badges as versions. Sign: a screenshot of xbox.com with Xbox One and Windows badges next to GTA VI. Cause: the general game hub uses template badges, while the store card lists Series X|S only. Fix: trust the store card and rockstargames.com/VI.
Waiting for a Switch 2 port "announced soon". Sign: rumor posts with a month attached. Cause: Nintendo of America said it has nothing to announce, and Rockstar lists two platforms. Fix: treat it as not announced; our list of what is confirmed and what is rumor keeps track.
Planning to stream GTA 6 to a laptop through Xbox on day one. Sign: no console, a plan to use the cloud. Cause: Xbox said the game will not stream to PC. Fix: plan on a console, or Remote Play from your own PS5.
If you are picking up a console for it, our GTA 6 price by country lists the game's price in 48 PlayStation Store regions, and GTA 6 release date has the launch details. Everything else is in our GTA 6 hub.
