How to use

  1. Optionally type a word you want in the name — your real name, a pet, a favourite weapon. The generator builds around it.
  2. Pick a vibe: Cool for dark and edgy, Pro for tryhard tags, Funny, Cute or Anime.
  3. Choose the game or platform. The list is filtered to its length limit and allowed characters, and every name gets a green ✓ or red ✕ badge.
  4. Add a fancy font or a frame like ꧁༺ ༻꧂ if the game supports Unicode (Free Fire, PUBG, Steam, Discord display names do; Roblox, Minecraft, Xbox don't).
  5. Hit Generate as many times as you like. Tap ☆ to save a name to your list (stored only in your browser), Copy to grab it.

What makes a good gamertag

A gamertag has three jobs: it should be easy to say in voice chat, easy to type when a friend adds you, and hard to confuse with someone else. That rules out long strings of numbers, look-alike letters (l vs I, 0 vs O) and anything you'll be embarrassed by in a year. The generator leans on short, punchy word pairs for exactly this reason: ShadowFox, GrimRusher, NotAPotato are memorable; xX_D4rkK1ll3r_2011_Xx is a typo waiting to happen.

Two more rules that pros follow: keep the same tag across every platform so people can find you, and avoid real names or years of birth — they leak personal info and they age badly.

The checker at the bottom of the tool runs any name you paste against all of these at once, so you can see where a fancy-font version will be rejected before you try it in the game.

How the generator works

Every name is built from curated word lists (about 600 words across the five vibes), fifteen sentence patterns (Adjective+Noun, Verb+Noun, Noun+number, prefix+Noun, leet variants, vowel-dropped forms and so on) and a cryptographically random picker — crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, not Math.random(), so no pattern shows up more often than it should. When you type your own word it is inserted into roughly two thirds of the results and kept intact in the rest, so you always get both "your word + something" and fresh ideas.

Fancy fonts are not fonts: they are look-alike characters from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric blocks (𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽, 𝔤𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠) and a few others. That is why they paste anywhere as plain text — and why platforms that only accept ASCII reject them. The badge next to each name tells you which is which.

Privacy

Nothing you type is sent to a server. The word lists, the styling tables and the platform rules ship with the page, generation happens in your browser, and saved names live in your browser's local storage only. The page loads an analytics script like any site, but your word and the generated names are never part of a request.

FAQ

Can I use a gamertag with special characters?

Only where the platform allows Unicode: Steam, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Standoff 2, Brawl Stars, Riot ID and Discord display names. Xbox, PlayStation, Roblox, Minecraft, Twitch and Discord usernames accept plain letters and digits only. Pick the game in the tool and the red ✕ badge will show you what won't pass.

How do I know if a gamertag is taken?

Availability can only be checked inside each platform (their APIs are not public), so the tool doesn't promise a name is free. Rarer word combinations, an underscore or a short number are the usual way to find a free variant fast — the generator produces those patterns on purpose.

Is this gamertag generator free?

Yes, fully free, no account, no limit on how many times you generate. There's nothing to unlock.

Does it work for Xbox gamertags specifically?

Yes. Choose "Xbox Gamertag" and every result is trimmed to 12 characters with letters, numbers and spaces only — the exact rules Xbox enforces since the 2019 gamertag update.

Can I generate names in Russian or Cyrillic?

Switch the alphabet selector to Кириллица. Cyrillic names work on Steam, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Standoff 2 and most mobile games; they are rejected by Roblox, Minecraft and Xbox.

Where are my saved names stored?

In your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded, which also means clearing site data removes the list.
