Gaming avatars

Pick a picture, press Download, set it as your profile picture. Every avatar here was drawn for this site, so nobody else has the same file and no one can claim it back. Square 640×640 — the shape every platform crops to.

Everything runs in your browser. What you type is never sent to our server.

How to use

  1. Tap a theme chip to narrow the set, or leave All to see everything.
  2. Press Download under a picture. On a phone you can also press and hold the image and choose “Save”.
  3. Steam and Discord crop avatars to a circle — the important part of every picture here sits in the middle, so nothing gets cut.
  4. The arrow opens the full-size file in a new tab if you want to crop it yourself.
  5. Xbox checks uploaded pictures automatically; these are neutral illustrations, so they pass.

What size an avatar should be

Every platform stores its own copy and squeezes yours into it, so the safest source is a square with room around the subject.
PlatformWhat it storesShape shown
Steam184×184 and smaller copiesSquare
Discordup to 1024×1024Circle
Twitchup to 256×256Circle
Xbox1080×1080 recommendedCircle
That is why these are 640×640: bigger than every target so nothing is upscaled, square so nothing is stretched, subject centred so the circle crop keeps the face.

Why not take an avatar from a search engine

Two reasons, both practical. First, a picture from search is used by a thousand other people, and in a game lobby that reads as “borrowed”. Second, images of characters from games and anime belong to their studios: platforms remove them on complaint, and a removed avatar sometimes takes a warning with it. Everything on this page was drawn for this site, so neither problem applies.

How to change the picture

  1. Steam: profile → Edit Profile → Avatar → Upload your avatar.
  2. Discord: settings gear → My Account → click the avatar → Change Avatar.
  3. Twitch: Settings → Profile → Profile Picture → Update.
  4. Xbox: profile → Customise → Change gamerpic → Custom image.

If the new picture does not appear straight away, that is caching, not an error: platforms serve the old copy for a few minutes.

FAQ

Are these free to use?

Yes. We drew them for this site and you can use them as a profile picture anywhere, including on a monetised channel. Reselling the files themselves is the only thing that is not fair game.

Is there a watermark?

No. The file you download is the picture, nothing printed over it.

Will they fit a circle crop?

Yes. Every subject sits in the centre with space around it, so a circular crop takes nothing important away.

Can I use one on Xbox?

Yes. Xbox runs uploaded pictures through automatic checks; these are neutral illustrations without text or logos, so they pass.

Will you add more?

Yes, the set grows. If a theme is missing, the nickname tools on this site pair well with what is here already.
