How to use
- Type a word or leave it empty. "Discord username" is preselected: results are lowercase, 2–32 characters, letters, digits, dot and underscore only.
- Pick a vibe: Cool, Pro, Funny, Cute or Anime.
- For a display name switch the game selector to "Discord display name" — then fonts like 𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 and frames like ꧁ ꧂ become available.
- Generate, tap ☆ to save, Copy.
- Paste into User Settings → My Account → Username or Display Name. Usernames can be changed twice per hour; display names are free to change any time.
Discord name rules: username vs display name
Discord's 2023 username migration replaced Name#1234 with a single unique username plus a free-form display name. The username is your @handle for friend requests and must follow a strict format; the display name is what people see in chat and can be almost anything. Servers add a third layer — a per-server nickname — with the same limits as the display name.

Getting a free username after the migration
Because every username is now globally unique and lowercase, short words went in the first weeks. The patterns that still find free handles: two words joined by a dot (hollow.fox), a word plus an underscore and a short number (nova_77), or a rarer adjective in front (ashen.raven instead of raven). Do not lean on trailing dots or underscores — Discord refuses them — and do not try to smuggle discord into the handle, it is blocked everywhere in the string. The generator uses exactly these patterns for the username preset, so most results are unusual enough to be available.

Fancy fonts in display names: what to watch
Display names accept Unicode "fonts" because they are ordinary characters from the Mathematical Alphanumeric blocks, not real fonts. Two side effects: people cannot @-mention you by typing your styled display name (they need the plain @username, which is why the username should stay simple), and Discord's search treats 𝓝𝓸𝓬𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓷𝓮 and Nocturne as different strings. Zero-width characters used for "invisible" names are stripped, so a blank display name is not possible; the closest legal trick is a single Braille blank ⠀, which some clients still render as empty. Emoji work in display names and server nicknames but are a bad idea in busy servers — they get truncated in the member list.
What makes ours different
Most name generators still produce CoolName#4821 or names with capitals and dashes that the new Discord form rejects. This tool has both rule sets built in: username results are lowercase and limited to a–z 0–9 . _ with the forbidden substrings checked, and switching to display name unlocks the fonts and frames. It runs in your browser, without an account, without ads over the tool, and without pretending to check availability — Discord has no public endpoint for that.
Privacy
The generator works entirely in your browser. Word lists, font tables and the Discord rules are part of the page; no name you type or generate is sent anywhere, and saved names stay in your device's local storage.
