No, you cannot get the GTA 5 platinum without GTA Online: 17 of the 50 trophies under it are online. Can you platinum GTA 5 without GTA Online?
No. The 17 online trophies include rank 25, 50 and 100, Survival, races, Gang Attacks, 20 store hold-ups and the apartment-garage-insured-car trophy. PowerPyx lists 18 online trophies because it counts the platinum among them; Stratege marks 17 as online-only.

The PS5 version also has A New Perspective, 15 hours in first-person view, which did not exist on PS3. Leave first-person on during free roam and it fills up on its own.

PowerPyx splits the platinum into four steps. This is the same order with the numbers that make each step long.

Step 1. Before the 69th mission, open the 100% checklist under Stats and check which missables are done. If any of Red Mist, Kifflom! or TP Industries Arms Race is still open, Option C is the only answer that keeps it.
Steps 2 and 3. Gold medal requirements do not have to be met in one attempt; PowerPyx confirms that progress across replays counts. Strangers and Freaks missions are shorter and easier, so most of the 70 medals usually come from there. Link your PSN account to Rockstar Social Club: its checklist shows more detail than the in-game stats page.
Step 4. Rank 100 is the long one. PowerPyx notes that a team gives 20% more RP than solo, crew members add another 10%, and the Hard setting before a job gives 1.5 times the RP. Every other online trophy is possible by rank 20; if you are new to the mode, start with our GTA Online beginner guide.
For A Lot of Cheddar ($200 million spent across all three characters), PowerPyx suggests buying and selling stocks right away on the LCN after the story, when you have about $20 million.

PS4 to PS5: what transfers
The trophy names are the same on both versions, and the platinum on each needs the same 51. What PowerPyx documents is the GTA Online character transfer: if your transferred character already has a rank that qualifies for a trophy, that trophy pops the next time you rank up on PS5. What usually goes wrong
Red Mist or Kifflom! gone after the credits. Option A or B was picked in the final mission. Load a manual save from before it and choose Option C, or start a new game; PowerPyx recommends several manual saves during the story for this reason.
Kifflom! stuck at step 7. After you deliver all the cars, the email for step 8 never comes. PowerPyx reports this as a known glitch with many players affected. Keep a save before the Epsilon car steps.
No trophy after a cheat code. PowerPyx is clear that all cheats disable trophies. Reload a save made without cheats before going for anything; the GTA 5 cheats guide explains what Rockstar says about it.
San Andreas Sightseer will not pop. The ocean counts too, not just the land. PowerPyx suggests flying the coastline first, then filling the dark sea areas by boat or plane; nuclear waste hunting covers much of it.
Wanted: Alive or Alive lost on the first target. The target died in the chase. Shoot the tyres, then hurt him lightly or use the stun gun; there are four targets, so one mistake is not fatal.
Time and rarity
PowerPyx: 150+ hours, 50 to 60 of them in the story. Stratege: 196 hours on average among its users on October 11, 2026. Of 19,336 Stratege users with the game, 1,359 have the platinum, about 7%, and the average completion is 17%.
The online trophies show the gap between platforms. On Steam, 22.3% have Above the Law (rank 100), against 14.0% on PSN. The story trophies differ even more: To Live or Die in Los Santos, the final mission, is at 8.4% on PSN and 23.8% on Steam. Among the base 51, the rarest on Steam on October 11, 2026 are Career Criminal (6.0%), Enjoy Your Stay (6.2%), then Solid Gold, Baby! and Three Man Army (6.3% each).
