Expedition 33 platinum trophy guide in one line: a single playthrough with five missable trophies, and three of those five are decided in the first hour. In the Prologue you need to beat the optional Mime on the main street and trade for the Old Key at the festival; in Act 2 you need to watch one camp scene; in Act 3 Maelle's last relationship scene needs the "(Truth)" answer. Everything else waits for you after the final boss. PowerPyx rates it 3/10 and 50–70 hours.
Below are the roadmap by act, the five missables with the exact moment each one closes, and all 56 trophies with PSN and Steam rarity.

Short answer
- In the Prologue, beat the Mime near the dancers' stage and trade a festival token for the Old Key before you leave the festival.
- After the first Axon in Act 2, pick "Check up on the others" at the camp fire every time it appears.
- In Maelle's level 7 scene in Act 3, choose "(Truth)". "(Lie)" blocks her trophy and her level 3 Gradient Attack.
- For Professional, leave the Chromatic Lancelier in Spring Meadows for later and beat it without taking a hit.
- Play on any difficulty. After the final boss, the game returns you to the last Expedition Flag for cleanup.
How hard is the Expedition 33 platinum?
Not hard, if you count trophies rather than fights. PowerPyx gives it 3/10 and 50–70 hours, and notes that the author played on the middle difficulty and rated that 5/10, then lowered the score because the lowest difficulty counts too. Difficulty changes enemy damage and how strict the parry and dodge timing is, not enemy health.
The work is in the endgame: the optional bosses Simon and Clea, the 33 fights of the Endless Tower and level 99. PowerPyx says finishing everything else puts the main party around level 90. Stratege users report 83 hours on average, which is a fair estimate if you are not following a guide.

Expedition 33 trophy roadmap by act
PowerPyx splits the run into three steps. Here they are in our words, with the stage numbers we use in the tables below.
- Prologue. Two things decide two missables here, and both are described in the next section. Overcharge and Time to Spill Some Ink come free from the same Mime fight, since the only way through its wall is a full Overcharge break.
- Acts 1 and 2. Most of the story and about half of the side areas. Relationship scenes start in Act 2. Your answers there do not matter, with one exception later. Do not kill a white Nevron after you have spoken to it: PowerPyx advises keeping all of them alive except the second-to-last one, which you reach in Act 3.
- Act 3 and cleanup. Esquie learns to fly, so the whole map opens. You can do the side content before or after the final boss. Loading the save after the credits puts you back at the last Expedition Flag before the final fight.
There is no collectible tracker per region, so PowerPyx recommends playing with a collectible guide open from the start. If you already finished the Prologue without one, check the missable list right away.
The 5 missable trophies and where they close
| Trophy | What decides it | When it closes |
|---|---|---|
| A Peculiar Encounter | The optional Mime on the right of the main street, near the dancers' stage | When you go down to the dock. Afterwards only a new save or NG+ helps |
| Follow the Trail | The Old Key, traded at the third stall on the left at the festival | When you leave the festival. One of the 49 journals in Old Lumière needs it |
| Connoisseur | Two records: from the Prologue Mime and from the Verso and Maelle piano scene after the first Axon | The camp scene seems to vanish at the end of Act 2 |
| Maelle | The "(Truth)" answer in her level 7 scene | At the choice itself. Reload an earlier save if you pick "(Lie)" |
| Professional | Any boss beaten without taking damage | Never fully; there are easy bosses left late in the game |
Connoisseur is more forgiving than it looks. The trophy counts 33 records, not 33 different ones, and the Mime's record has a duplicate in the final area. If you miss one of the two missable records, the other one plus that duplicate still gets you there. Miss both and you can only reach 32.
For Professional, PowerPyx names three good targets: the Chromatic Lancelier in Spring Meadows, the Chromatic Hexga in the Stone Wave Cliffs cave (you have to go back there for a journal anyway) and the Monoco fight at Monoco's Station. Chromatic enemies count, Mimes do not, and François in Esquie's Nest does not seem to count either.

Endgame checklist for Act 3
Once Esquie can fly, this is what the platinum still needs. A handy order is the one below: each step makes the next one easier.
| Task | Count | Trophy |
|---|---|---|
| Journals | 49 | Follow the Trail |
| Music records | 33 | Connoisseur |
| Lost Gestrals | 9 | Lost Gestrals |
| Nevron quests | 10 | Aiding the Enemy |
| Gestral Beach minigames | 5 | Gestral Games |
| Monoco skills | 45 | Feet Collection |
| Relationship scenes | Level 7 with five companions | Sciel, Monoco, Maelle, Lune, Esquie |
| World bosses | Sprong, Serpenphare, Chromatic Pétank | Sprong, À On, Carreau Parfait |
| Endless Tower | 11 stages × 3 fights | "Endless" |
| Late bosses | Clea, then Simon | Clea, Peace At Last |
| Level | 99 on any character | Survivor |
Two tips from PowerPyx save hours here. Beat Sprong before the other world bosses, since it drops the Cheater Pictos that gives a character two turns in a row and makes the other world bosses easier. And keep Monoco in the party after he joins: most of his skills then come during normal fights, and the Endless Tower covers almost all the rest.
What usually goes wrong
The Old Key is gone and so is Follow the Trail. The festival has three unique items for tokens, and the key is the one you need. Trade for it first; you can earn two more tokens in the same section for the rest. If you already left the festival, the trophy is out for this playthrough, and NG+ resets the journals, so every one has to be found again.
Aiding the Enemy stays at nine quests. Some Nevrons take an item and start a conversation, but the reward comes only when you talk to them again. PowerPyx says this is the usual cause when all ten seem done.
Maelle's relationship stops at level 6. That is the "(Lie)" answer in the last scene. Reload an earlier autosave and choose "(Truth)". Without it you also lose her level 3 Gradient Attack, which is one of the strongest moves against Clea and Simon.
Level 99 feels endless. PowerPyx's method: in Renoir's Drafts, from the Golden Tree flag, go down the ramp and grapple up to the building with the Gestral Merchant. Beating it and its two guards without taking damage gives about 2.1 million XP, and a ready team does it in roughly 30 seconds per fight.
Professional never popped. You probably took a hit on every boss. Go back to the Chromatic Hexga or any early Chromatic enemy at a high level and finish it in one or two turns.
Rarity and time compared
By Stratege's numbers Expedition 33 sits in the middle of our series: 3,524 of its 8,599 users with the game have the platinum, and the average completion is 58%. The share on PSN as a whole is lower, 9.3% on October 11, 2026, because it counts every account that has the game on its trophy list.
| Source | Estimate | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| PowerPyx (May 20, 2025) | 50–70 hours, 3/10 | One run with a collectible guide |
| Stratege (Oct 11, 2026) | 83 hours on average | Self-reported time of Stratege users |
The rarest regular trophies are the collection ones: Follow the Trail at 11.1% on PSN and Connoisseur at 10.1% on Steam. Both are missables, which says a lot about where people slip.
If you want something shorter next, the Resident Evil Requiem platinum guide takes about 20 hours over three runs, and our list of the easiest platinum trophies sorts 27 good games by hours. Those new to the hobby should start with how PlayStation trophies work. FAQ
What are the missable trophies in Expedition 33?
Five, according to PowerPyx: A Peculiar Encounter and Follow the Trail (both decided in the Prologue), Connoisseur (two records, Prologue and Act 2), Maelle (one dialogue choice in Act 3) and Professional (beat a boss without taking damage).
How long does the Expedition 33 platinum take?
PowerPyx estimates 50–70 hours. Stratege users who logged their time report 83 hours on average as of October 11, 2026.
Does difficulty affect any trophy?
No. Every trophy can be earned on any difficulty, with accessibility options on. Difficulty changes enemy damage and how strict the dodge and parry timing is, not enemy health.
Can I clean up after the final boss?
Yes. Loading your save after the final boss puts you back at the last Expedition Flag before that fight, with the whole map open.
Is any trophy glitched?
PowerPyx reports that Connoisseur can pop early, at the 32nd unique record, if you pick up both copies of the duplicated record. That works in your favour.
How rare is the Expedition 33 platinum?
On October 11, 2026 Stratege showed 9.3% of PSN players with the platinum. Among Stratege's own users, 3,524 of 8,599 owners have it.
