How to use

  1. Pick the game — its yaw (degrees per mouse count) is filled in automatically.
  2. Enter your DPI and in-game sensitivity.
  3. Read cm/360° and inches/360°, plus the cm for a 180° flick — that is the distance that must fit on your mousepad.

The formula and a worked example

A full rotation is 360°. Each mouse count rotates the view by yaw × sensitivity degrees, and one inch of movement produces DPI counts. So:

inches/360 = 360 / (yaw × sensitivity × DPI)
cm/360 = inches/360 × 2.54

Example, CS2 at 400 DPI and 1.9 sensitivity (ZywOo's setting on ProSettings): 360 / (0.022 × 1.9 × 400) = 21.53 inches = 54.7 cm per 360°. A 180° flick therefore needs 27.4 cm of pad. Valorant at 800 DPI × 0.35: 360 / (0.07 × 0.35 × 800) = 18.37 in = 46.7 cm. Apex at 800 × 1.5: 13.64 in = 34.6 cm.

Reverse formula, when you know the cm/360 you want: sensitivity = 360 × 2.54 / (yaw × DPI × cm/360). To get 40 cm/360 in CS2 at 800 DPI: 914.4 / (0.022 × 800 × 40) = 1.30.

The eDPI columns are computed from the yaw values above (CS2: eDPI = 914.4 / (0.022 × cm); Valorant: 914.4 / (0.07 × cm)). Note how the same 45 cm equals 924 eDPI in CS2 and 290 in Valorant — the numbers look unrelated, the hand movement is identical.

How to use cm/360 in practice

Mousepad size. A 180° turn uses half your cm/360. On a 45 × 40 cm pad you can comfortably do about 35 cm of continuous travel, so cm/360 above ~70 forces a lift on every turn. Measure the pad, not the desk.

Consistency between games. Pick one cm/360 and set every game to it — that is exactly what our sensitivity converter automates. A game with a wider field of view (Apex 110°, Fortnite 80–120°) may feel slower at the same cm/360 because targets cover fewer pixels; some players run 10–20 % less distance there, but the raw cm/360 remains the honest baseline.

Measuring it in-game. Put a piece of tape on the pad, face a landmark, move the mouse in one straight stroke until you face it again and measure the stroke. If it does not match the calculator, Windows pointer speed is not at 6/11, "Enhance pointer precision" is on, or the game has raw input disabled.

Choosing a value. Start in the band of your game's pros (CS2 and Valorant: 45–55 cm; Apex, Overwatch, COD: 30–40 cm; Fortnite: 25–35 cm), play, adjust by 10 % steps, stop when both flicks and tracking feel neutral.

FAQ

What is a good cm/360 for CS2?

The pros on ProSettings sit mostly between 40 and 60 cm (ZywOo 54.7, donk 41.6, m0NESY 45.2). Below 35 cm is considered high for CS2, above 65 cm very low.

What is a good cm/360 for Valorant?

Similar to CS2 in physical terms — roughly 40–55 cm for most pros — because both are tactical shooters with small angles. The eDPI numbers differ (about 250–350) only because Valorant's yaw is 0.07.

Why does the same cm/360 feel faster in Apex?

A wider field of view (110° vs CS2's 90° at 4:3) puts the same target on fewer pixels, so the crosshair appears to move faster across it. Many Apex players compensate with 10–20 % more cm/360 than in CS2.

How do inches/360 relate to cm/360?

Multiply inches by 2.54. 20 in/360 = 50.8 cm/360. North American communities tend to quote inches; everyone else uses centimetres.

Does DPI change my cm/360?

Only if you leave the sensitivity as is. Doubling DPI halves cm/360; halve the sensitivity at the same time and the distance is unchanged.

Can I measure cm/360 for a game not in the list?

Yes, manually: do one 360° turn with a straight mouse stroke and measure it with a ruler, or check the game's yaw in an open converter and enter your own yaw value.
