The God of War Ragnarök platinum trophy has nothing missable and can be done on the easiest difficulty in one playthrough. It needs 36 trophies, and the route has only two steps: finish the story, then go for 100% completion. PowerPyx puts it at 40–50 hours on Story difficulty, while Stratege users report 72 hours on average.
Valhalla adds 12 more trophies that do not count toward the platinum. If you finished the game on PS4, loading that save on PS5 pops everything at once, platinum included.

Can you platinum God of War Ragnarök on Story difficulty?
Yes. PowerPyx rates the platinum 4/10 on Story difficulty and says there are no difficulty trophies at all. Difficulty can be changed at any time in the gameplay settings, and accessibility options are allowed.
The hard part is not the difficulty slider but two optional bosses: King Hrólf and Gná are level 9 fights. PowerPyx points out that full completion is also what brings your gear to the maximum level 9, and that is what gives you a real chance against these two.
Roadmap: story, then 100%
PowerPyx's roadmap has only two steps, each about 20 hours on Story difficulty. Here is the order in our words:
- Finish the story, about 20 hours. Do not worry about collectibles. Many of them need abilities you have not learned yet, and some, like the Remnants, do not appear until after the ending. Enemy drops you leave behind end up in the blue chest at the blacksmith, so nothing can be lost.
- 100% completion, about 20 hours. Follow one collectible route realm by realm. It also handles the favors, which give a large share of the trophies.
The trophy list does not name some collectible types, but you still need them:
- all 48 Odin's ravens, because they lead to one of the relics for Collector;
- all Berserker gravestones, because King Hrólf only appears after them;
- the Nornir chests, which hold the apples and horns for Full Belly;
- the legendary chests, which contain the parts for the Yggdrasil amulet.
PowerPyx counts 418 collectibles in total. Lore and buried treasures are the only types without a trophy link.

Collector is the rarest base trophy at 8.6% on PSN, ahead of The Curator at 10.0%. Every trophy in the list has a higher share on Steam than on PSN, from Collector's 13.2% to the 92.6% of the first boss.
Valhalla: 12 trophies outside the platinum
Stratege lists 48 trophies, and the 12 after the base 36 belong to Valhalla. PowerPyx says the platinum needs no DLC items, so you can skip it entirely.

The other six are story beats of the mode, from Invitation Accepted (20.8% on PSN) to No Kratos, No Scry (9.8%). Easy Come, Easy Go and Understood the Assignment need planning: the first counts echoes within a single run, the second needs nine mastery tasks. Stratege showed no PSN figure for Fight at the Forum on October 11.
Does a PS4 save autopop on PS5?
Yes, and fully. PowerPyx says that loading a PS4 save on PS5 pops all trophies, including the platinum, the moment the save loads. It works only one way: a PS5 save cannot move to the PS4 version.
You need the PS5 version for that, of course. PowerPyx's header lists the cross-buy edition at $69.99, the PS4-only version $59.99, with a $10 upgrade to PS5. Store prices change, so check the current ones before you buy. On PC the game uses Steam achievements, which do not carry over to PSN.
What usually goes wrong
Collector is stuck because a relic cannot be crafted. PowerPyx mentions reports of relics that stay unavailable even with the lost pages and materials in hand. Four relics are crafted at the blacksmith and need their lost pages first, so check that you really have all four pages before suspecting a bug.
King Hrólf does not show up. He is the last Berserker and appears only after every other Berserker gravestone is cleared. If he is missing, one gravestone is still left somewhere.
Gná is missing in Muspelheim. She appears in the Crucible only after the story ends.
Ready for Commitment won't pop. It needs all three pieces of one set at level 9: chest, wrist and waist. Mixing pieces from different sets does not count, even if each is level 9.
Trying to finish realms during the story. You cannot: abilities and some collectibles come later. Grab what is in reach and leave the rest for step 2.
