CS2 Mirage smokes in the standard set are 13 smokes plus 12 other grenades (six mollies, five flashes and one HE), all from the base Mirage guide on csnades.gg, checked on October 11, 2026. Below, each lineup is a table row: where to stand, what to aim at, how to throw, the flight time and the date csnades last updated it. We describe the spots in words and do not use game screenshots; the link in every row opens the csnades page with a short video of the throw. If you are new to lineups, read how to throw smokes in CS2 first: it explains the jump throw and gives the practice commands.

Short answer
- First five T smokes: top mid, mid window, jungle plus connector, stairs and bench.
- First three CT smokes: palace from CT spawn, catwalk from B short, B apartments from trash.
- 11 of the 13 smokes are thrown standing still; only mid window and back apartments need movement.
- No jump-throw bind: it has been ignored by default since August 19, 2024. Jump and throw by hand.
- Rows last updated before August 21, 2024 predate a Valve grenade clipping change on Mirage. Watch the video before you rely on them.

Which smokes to learn first on Mirage?
Start with the smokes that cut the map in half. On T side that is top mid and mid window from T spawn: they block the main sightlines into mid. Then add one A-site package (jungle plus connector from T roof, stairs from A ramp) and one B smoke (bench from back alley). On CT side, palace from CT spawn covers one of the T routes onto A, the catwalk smoke covers the path from mid towards B, and B apartments covers the main T entry to B.
This pick is ours, but it is not random. A Steam Community guide updated in April 2026 builds its T-side set around the same areas: window, connector, stairs and jungle, plus kitchen window and CT. Everything except the CT smoke has a match in the csnades base set below.
If you want to know which side of the utility you enjoy more, the CS2 role quiz is a quick check before you commit a week to T or CT lineups.
T-side smokes
Nine smokes, all from csnades' base Mirage guide. "Stand" means no keys pressed; "jump" means jump and release left click right after.
Top mid T
Stand: T spawn, corner on top of the garbage
Aim: Tip of the antenna
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 5.6 s
Mid window T
Stand: T spawn, corner by the trash can
Aim: Crouch, bottom of the door frame
Throw: Crouch-walk ¾ along the border, jump · Air: 6.8 s
Bottom connector T
Stand: Corner on the apartments ramp
Aim: Empty spot between the carpet decorations
Throw: Jump, stand · Air: 6 s
Jungle + connector T
Stand: T roof, pillar between the windows
Aim: A quarter down the trapezoid, just left of it
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 6.1 s
Stairs T
Stand: A ramp, in front of the edge
Aim: Centre of the rectangular gap
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 5.4 s
Top of ticket booth T
Stand: A ramp, in the corner
Aim: Just left of the stick
Throw: Jump, stand · Air: 5.7 s
Market window T
Stand: Back alley, in the corner
Aim: Corner of the bottom border
Throw: Jump, stand · Air: 8.3 s
Bench T
Stand: Back alley, on the plank
Aim: A bit right of the building's tip
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 5.8 s
Right arch T
Stand: Back alley, right side of the window
Aim: Between the edge and the stick
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 6.5 s
Mid window is the odd one: you aim crouched, then crouch-walk about three quarters of the way along a border line and jump-throw. The other eight are thrown from a fixed spot.
Instant window smokes. T spawn on Mirage has several starting positions, and the base lineup above works from one of them. csnades keeps a separate guide with eight instant window smokes, one per spawn, all thrown as a run plus jump throw. Since September 30, 2026 the grenade crosshair shows during freeze time when you hold a grenade attack button, so you can line up before the round starts.
CT-side smokes
Palace CT
Stand: CT spawn, in the corner
Aim: Top left of the inner window
Throw: Jump, stand · Air: 5.9 s
Catwalk CT
Stand: B short, right of the door frame
Aim: Middle of the shadow line (the crack)
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 2.6 s
B apartments CT
Stand: Corner by the trash on B
Aim: Bright tip of the tarp
Throw: Left click, stand · Air: 3.5 s
Back of apartments CT
Stand: Roughly on B site
Aim: Roughly line up the pillar with the border
Throw: Run, jump · Air: 6 s
Back of apartments is marked "Loose" on csnades: the aim forgives a lot, which suits a smoke you throw in a hurry. The other three are "Precise", so take them slowly in practice.
Molotovs, flashes and the HE that matter
Twelve more lineups from the same base guide. Flashes fly 1.6 s, mollies 1.5 to 2 s.
Molotov: A ramp CT
Stand: Roughly on the stairs at triple box, aim at the right windows
Throw: Run, left click
Molotov: B apartments CT
Stand: On B site, aim at the bottom of the window
Throw: Left click, stand
Molotov: top mid boxes CT
Stand: Window corner, line up vertically, step back to the wall
Throw: Run, left click
Molotov: dark T
Stand: Corner at tetris, crouch, aim left of the top wood
Throw: Left click, crouched
Molotov: van T
Stand: Near the couch in B apartments, a third into the window, on the ledge
Throw: Run, left click
Molotov: window T
Stand: Behind the cart at top mid boxes, bottom of the antenna
Throw: Run, left click
Flash: mid window CT
Stand: Corner in jungle, aim at the wood
Throw: Left click, stand
Flash: top mid CT
Stand: Roughly in triple, between the dots on the line
Throw: Run, jump
Flash: A ramp T
Stand: Left of the door frame, top of the lamp
Throw: Left click, stand
Flash: B site T
Stand: On the line in back alley, middle pillar
Throw: Run, jump
Flash: mid T
Stand: Middle of the wood outside T apartments, top left of the splash
Throw: Jump, stand
HE: A main CT
Stand: Roughly in front of default, middle of the line
Throw: Run, left click
All twelve were last updated by csnades between November 2023 and May 2024, which is before Valve's August 2024 grenade clipping pass on Mirage. That does not mean they broke, it means nobody has re-dated them. Throw each one a few times in practice before you trust it in a match.
How to practise these lineups
Open a practice match on Mirage and paste the command block from how to throw smokes in CS2: it gives you money, grenades, no freeze time and the rethrow key. Then work through one row at a time:
- Find the spot: stand exactly where the "Stand at" cell says and compare with the video on csnades.
- Aim and hold: put the crosshair on the point, then do not move the mouse.
- Throw five times: use rethrow and noclip to fly over and check the landing.
- Play it once: a bot match where you use only the new smoke.
Lineups are about aim points, not mouse speed, so changing sensitivity does not move the landing spot. If your aim still feels off after switching from another game, the sensitivity converter keeps your sens the same. Crosshair size can make "aim at the tip" harder to read; our CS2 crosshair codes page covers crosshair settings.
What usually goes wrong
Window smoke lands on the wrong side of the window. You are on a different T spawn than the lineup assumes. Find your spawn in csnades' instant window guide and learn that variant.
Mid window smoke falls short. It is the one T smoke that needs crouch-walking before the jump. Stopping too early changes the distance. Count the walk against the border line in practice until it is the same every time.
A jump smoke flies too far or too short. A leftover jump-throw bind does nothing since August 2024, so you are throwing with your own timing. Release the grenade right after pressing jump, as Valve describes it, and listen for the confirmation sound.
An older smoke hits a new edge. Valve adjusted Mirage grenade clipping on August 21, 2024, changed collision at the top of the ladder hole on September 26, 2025 and reinforced the scaffolding by the A-site balcony on September 22, 2026. If a smoke near those areas stops short, the map changed, not your aim. Check the latest csnades video.
Precise lineups miss by a little. "Precise" on csnades means the aim point does not forgive drift. Stand still a moment after aiming and only then throw.
Learning order and binds
Week one: the five T smokes from the short answer, until you can throw them without the video. Week two: the three CT smokes. After that add molotovs for the site you play most, then the instant window variant for your usual spawn.
You need no special throw binds. The only binds worth adding are for practice: rethrow, noclip, the grenade camera and the flight trail, all listed on the throwing guide.
When Mirage feels done, move to Dust 2 smokes and then Inferno smokes. For a change of scenery during practice, the random CS2 map picker chooses the next map, and CS2 launch options covers the settings side. Everything else about the game, including the CS2 weapons tier list, is in the CS2 hub and on the guides page.
FAQ
Which Mirage smokes should I learn first?
On T side: top mid and mid window from T spawn, jungle plus connector from T roof, stairs from A ramp and bench from back alley. On CT side: palace from CT spawn, catwalk from B short and B apartments from trash. Together they cover mid and both sites.
Do Mirage lineups need a jump throw bind?
No. Since August 19, 2024 jump-throw binds are ignored by default, and Valve made a plain jump followed by a quick throw land the same way every time.
Are these Mirage lineups still valid in 2026?
csnades keeps all 25 in its base Mirage guide as of October 11, 2026. Each row shows the date csnades last updated it; Valve changed Mirage clipping on August 21, 2024, September 26, 2025 and September 22, 2026, so check older rows by video before a match.
Where can I watch each throw?
Every row links to its csnades page, which has a short video of the lineup. We describe positions in words only and do not use game screenshots.
My window smoke from T spawn misses. What is wrong?
T spawn on Mirage has several starting spots, and each needs its own lineup. csnades keeps a separate guide with eight instant window smokes for different spawns.
How do I practise these lineups?
Open a practice match on Mirage, paste the command block from our guide on how to throw smokes in CS2 and bind sv_rethrow_last_grenade to repeat your last throw.
