How to use
- Leave Active Duty on for the seven competitive maps, add Reserve if your group plays Office, Italy or Overpass nights too.
- Press Pick — the map name and its pool appear in the box.
- For a series keep No repeats on and press Pick three (Bo3) or five (Bo5) times; the history strip becomes your map order.
- Pick for 5 draws five different maps at once if you want a full evening scheduled in one click.
- Refresh the page to reset the history and start a new veto.

"Active Duty" is Valve's name for the seven-map pool used in Premier mode and by tournament organizers. Reserve maps can be queued in the Competitive mode but do not appear in Premier. Valve rotates the pool roughly once a year around the Premier season change; when it does, this list is updated and the date at the top of the file changes.
Random map vs. a proper veto
Pro matches do not roll maps — they veto. In a best-of-3 each team bans two maps in turn, picks one, and the last remaining map is the decider. The random picker is for everything a veto is too slow for:
- 10-man customs where nobody wants to be the captain who "always picks Mirage".
- Practice sessions: a random Active Duty map each day forces you to keep nades for all seven, not just the two you like.
- Scrims when both teams are fine with anything and just want to start.
- Streams and challenges: "random map, random weapon", the map half is here.
Hybrid that works well for a 10-man: each captain bans one map by hand, then roll from the remaining five. Fast, and the two maps the lobby truly hates are gone.
How the pick is made
The map is drawn with crypto.getRandomValues and rejection sampling, so with the Active Duty filter each of the seven maps has exactly a 1-in-7 chance (14.3%), and with both pools on each of the 15 maps has 1-in-15. "No repeats" is a shuffled queue, so a Bo3 drawn with it is three different maps in random order — the same result as drawing three balls from a bag without putting them back. There is no bias toward Mirage or Dust II, no matter how much your lobby suspects it.
What makes ours different
- The pool is the real 2026 competitive list, split into Active Duty and Reserve, with the change dates shown — not a CS:GO-era list with Cobblestone still in it.
- No-repeats mode builds a Bo3/Bo5 order in seconds.
- Cryptographic randomness, visible history, and no ads over the Pick button.
- Works on a phone in the lobby; no login, nothing to install.
Privacy
The map list is part of the page and the draw runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server when you pick, and nothing is stored beyond the on-screen history.
FAQ
What are the CS2 Active Duty maps right now?
As of September 2026: Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke. Cache replaced Overpass for Premier Season 5 in July 2026.
Is Overpass still in the map pool?
It is in the Reserve pool — playable in Competitive, but not in Premier or most tournaments since July 2026.
Can I pick maps for a best-of-3?
Yes. Keep No repeats on and press Pick three times; the history strip shows the order. Pick for 5 does the same for a Bo5 in one click.
Does the picker include Office and Italy?
Yes, under Reserve. Turn the Reserve filter on to include hostage maps and the community maps currently in Competitive.
Is the pick weighted toward popular maps?
No. Every map in the active pool has the same chance; the draw uses the browser's cryptographic RNG.
How often does the pool change?
Valve usually rotates one map around the Premier season change, roughly once a year. We update the list at each rotation and show the date.
