CS2 Cache smokes for the remade map: csnades lists 36 single lineups (26 smokes, 8 molotovs, 1 flash and 1 HE) plus 2 combinations, checked on October 11, 2026, and all 36 are below. Cache joined the Active Duty pool on July 8, 2026, replacing Overpass, and almost every lineup here was last updated on csnades on July 12, 2026. Anything you saw for Cache before May 2026, including CS:GO-era Steam guides, may not match the current map. Each row gives where to stand, what to aim at, how to throw and how long the grenade flies. We describe spots in words and use no game screenshots; each row links to the csnades page with a short video. New to lineups? Read how to throw smokes in CS2 first.

Short answer

  • First five T smokes: connector from T spawn, forklift from A main, new box from outside A main, CT from B main, heaven from B main.
  • First three CT smokes: A main from quad, garage from connector, B main from heaven.
  • The four CT instant garage smokes are spawn-specific. Learn the one for each spawn, not one for all.
  • Valve kept editing Cache after csnades' July 12 dates: collision on August 3, spawn points on September 9, clipping by the mid blue doors on September 22.
  • No jump-throw bind; it has been ignored by default since August 19, 2024.

Cache in 2026: what changed and when

Cache is the newest map in the pool, and Valve's release notes show how much it moved in its first months. That history decides which lineups you can trust.

Date Valve note What it means for lineups
Apr 28, 2026 Cache added to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch and Retakes The remade map goes live
Apr 29, 2026 Grenade and player clipping adjusted throughout the map; lamp by squeaky removed; AC unit above sandbags removed and pipes moved Early lineups shift
Apr 30 to May 20, 2026 Clipping changes in five more notes: Apr 30, May 7, May 14, May 18, May 20 Videos from May are risky
Jun 22, 2026 HLTV reports Cache will replace Overpass after the Premier season ends on July 6
Jul 8, 2026 Cache added to Active Duty, Overpass removed; more clipping changes
Jul 12, 2026 csnades updates its Cache molotovs and smokes Date on most rows below
Aug 3, 2026 Collision fixed in various spots, boost spot in outside A removed Check rows near outside A
Sep 9, 2026 Missing competitive CT spawn added, extra T spawns added Spawn-based lineups may not cover every spawn
Sep 22, 2026 Gap fixes and clipping around the blue doors in mid Check smokes that pass that area

Five of those notes name grenade clipping or collision explicitly (April 29, May 7, May 14, May 18 and May 20). Nine of them touch clipping or collision in some form.

Which smokes to learn first on Cache?

On T side, start with one smoke per lane. Connector from T spawn is a running jump throw from the hash marks; it flies 5.9 seconds, so throw it at the start of the round. For A, forklift from A main is a quick running throw (3.2 s) and new box from outside A main is a standing jump throw that takes 8.4 seconds. For B, CT from B main and heaven from B main are both thrown from next to a doorway in B main.

On CT side, A main from quad is the easiest throw on the page: stand in the corner, aim above the "H" in the middle of the rhombus, left click, three seconds. Garage from connector is a running throw, 2.8 seconds. B main from heaven is marked "Loose", so a rough position is fine.

Then learn the instant garage smoke for each CT spawn. Valve made this easier on September 30, 2026: the grenade crosshair now shows during freeze time when you hold a grenade attack button, so you can line up before the round starts. Details are in the throwing guide.

If you are deciding whether to be the team's utility player at all, the CS2 role quiz helps.

Heaven from garbage is the only "Very Precise" T smoke: after aiming you shift the point two marks down on the grenade reticle, which got axis labels on its tick marks in November 2024.

The HE and the back-of-site molotov are both thrown from a corner in sun room with a similar aim, so learn them together. The HE is dated June 29 and the flash June 6, 2026; the molotovs July 12.

The sandbags molotov aims at the pipes. Valve moved the pipes above sandbags on April 29, 2026; the csnades date is later, so this one already reflects the change.

What usually goes wrong

You learned Cache from an old video. Steam Community guides for Cache that we found are from 2018–2019, and even 2026 videos recorded in May may predate several clipping changes. Use csnades' July 2026 rows and check the date on any video.

The CT garage smoke from spawn misses. Each of the four versions belongs to one spawn position. Learn to recognise your spawn in the first second of the round. Since September 9 there is an extra CT spawn point that the July set may not cover; on that spawn, skip the instant smoke and use garage from connector once you get there.

Left mid and right mid get mixed up. Same spot, same written description. Watch both videos back to back and note the difference before you practise.

A smoke near the mid blue doors stops short. Valve adjusted clipping around those doors on September 22, 2026, after csnades' July dates. Test any lineup that flies past them.

A jump smoke flies too far or too short. Old jump-throw binds do nothing since August 2024. Release right after pressing jump, and hold still before you start.

Learning order, practice and binds

Week one: the five T smokes from the short answer. Week two: A main from quad, garage from connector, B main from heaven, then the instant garage smoke for each CT spawn. Week three: the sun room molotovs and the HE.

Practise one row at a time on a private server with the command block from how to throw smokes in CS2: match the spot with the video, aim, throw five times with rethrow, then use it once in a bot match. No throw binds are needed; the useful binds are rethrow, noclip, the grenade camera and the flight trail. Sensitivity does not move a lineup, but the sensitivity converter helps if your aim feels off after another game, and CS2 crosshair codes helps if a thick crosshair hides small aim points.

The other maps: Nuke smokes, Ancient smokes, Anubis smokes and Dust 2 smokes. The random CS2 map picker already has Cache in its Active Duty list. More in the CS2 hub and on the guides page.

FAQ

Is Cache in the CS2 map pool in 2026?

Yes. Valve added Cache to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch and Retakes on April 28, 2026 and to the Active Duty pool on July 8, 2026, replacing Overpass. The pool is now Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust 2, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke.

Do old CS:GO Cache lineups still work?

Treat them as outdated. The Steam Community Cache guides we found date from 2018 and 2019, before the remake, and Valve changed clipping or collision on the new Cache in nine release notes between April 29 and September 22, 2026.

Which Cache smokes should I learn first?

On T side: connector from T spawn, forklift from A main, new box from outside A main, CT from B main and heaven from B main. On CT side: A main from quad, garage from connector and B main from heaven.

Do Cache lineups need a jump throw bind?

No. Since August 19, 2024 binds that mix jump and attack are ignored, and Valve made a plain jump followed by a quick throw land the same way every time.

My CT instant garage smoke misses. What is wrong?

csnades has four versions, one per CT spawn position, each with its own aim point. On September 9, 2026 Valve added a missing competitive CT spawn point, so on some rounds you may start where none of the four applies.

Where can I watch each throw?

Every row links to its csnades page, which has a short video of the lineup. We describe positions in words only and do not use game screenshots.
