There is no online, and only three base-game trophies can be missed: Full Crew, Assassin of Kings and Gwent Master. The real cost is time, and Stratege users average 373 hours to the platinum. Can you platinum The Witcher 3 in one playthrough?
Yes. Three trophies are tied to difficulty, and they stack: Passed the Trial for any setting, Ran the Gauntlet for Blood and Broken Bones or Death March, Walked the Path for Death March only. One completed Death March run covers all three, so the minimum is one playthrough plus the right setting.

The sources we opened do not settle one detail: whether lowering the difficulty for a single fight voids Walked the Path. PowerPyx itself suggests dropping it for some fistfights and for Iris's nightmares in Hearts of Stone. If you want certainty, keep a separate save for those moments and do the main run on Death March throughout.

Stage 4 is the one to slow down at. PowerPyx is clear that you can skip the Brothers in Arms quests and walk straight to the Isle of Mists, which closes Full Crew. The same jump closes Assassin of Kings if any quest in the Novigrad chain is still open.
The fistfights open after the Bloody Baron quest in Velen. Gwent cards come naturally while you play, and PowerPyx notes that Geralt and Friends and All In usually pop on the way to a strong deck.
Missable trophies: Full Crew, Assassin of Kings, Gwent Master
Full Crew needs seven allies at Kaer Morhen: Keira Metz, Triss Merigold, Roche, Ves, Zoltan Chivay, Ermion and Hjalmar. Keira and Triss are the easiest to lose because their quests come early. Others you can meet, such as Letho, Dijkstra or Emhyr, do not count.

Assassin of Kings needs a chain of seven quests. Six of them must be done before you sail to the Isle of Mists: Redania's Most Wanted, An Eye for an Eye, A Matter of Life and Death, Now or Never, A Deadly Plot and the main quest Blindingly Obvious. The seventh, where Radovid is assassinated, triggers at the very end of the game. In Blindingly Obvious pick the first reply each time Dijkstra and Philippa talk to you at the end.
Gwent Master is the Passiflora tournament in Novigrad (High Stakes, 1,000 crowns entry, four opponents). A lost match fails the quest, so save before each game. PowerPyx built its winning deck from Northern Realms cards.

How long does the Witcher 3 platinum really take?
PowerPyx gives no estimate, and we will not invent one. The only number we have is Stratege's: 373 hours is the average platinum time among its users on October 11, 2026. Of 32,528 Stratege users who own the game, 7,619 have the platinum, and the average completion is 42%.
The long pole is not the story but the small combat trophies. On Steam, Master Marksman (50 crossbow headshots) sits at 1.8%, Humpty Dumpty at 2.0%, The Enemy of My Enemy at 2.6%, and Overkill and What Was That? at around 3%. Walked the Path, the Death March trophy, is at 3.6%. Plan those as small sessions rather than hoping they pop on their own.
What usually goes wrong
Full Crew stays locked after Kaer Morhen. One ally never came: usually Keira (killed or sent away) or Triss (not asked to stay). Reload a save from before those quest endings; if you have none, the trophy needs a new run.
Assassin of Kings never starts. You went to the Isle of Mists with a Novigrad quest still open, or picked the wrong reply in Blindingly Obvious. Do the chain as soon as each quest appears and keep a manual save before the Isle of Mists.
The tournament failed. A single lost match in High Stakes ends it. Load the save from before the match; PowerPyx suggests collecting cards for Card Collector first, which also builds a stronger deck.
Overkill does not count. Enemies die before bleeding, poison and burning stack. PowerPyx's method: the bandit camp at Devil's Pit in Velen on Death March, broadhead bolt first, then Devil's Puffball and Dancing Star.
Power Overwhelming misses one bonus. Each Place of Power lasts 30 minutes, so the last one runs out while you ride to the next. Plan a short route in White Orchard and activate all five in one go.
Rarity: PSN vs Steam
Stratege shows no PSN percentage for the platinum, so the clean comparison is on individual trophies. Most story trophies and both story missables are more common on PSN: 70.7% found Yennefer on PSN against 60.2% on Steam, Full Crew is at 20.9% and 18.9%, Assassin of Kings at 17.2% and 15.0%. Two trophies go the other way. Gwent Master has 9.9% on PSN and 11.1% on Steam, and Ran the Gauntlet, the hard-difficulty finish, has 5.1% and 6.5%.
