Yes, the Elden Ring platinum fits into one playthrough. This Elden Ring platinum trophy guide covers all 42 trophies: none of them is online, there is no difficulty setting, and only five can be missed. Three of those five are the endings, and a save backup made right after the final boss gives you all three from one file. PowerPyx puts the whole run at 60 to 100 hours, while Stratege users average 173. Your first job is simple: back up the save before you touch anything after the last fight.

Short answer

  • Plan one playthrough: 42 trophies, zero online, no difficulty modes, no DLC trophies in the list.
  • Back up the save after Elden Beast and before the ending choice, then restore it twice for three endings.
  • Pick up Bolt of Gransax in Leyndell before you beat Maliketh, or the legendary set stays at 8 of 9.
  • Keep Fia alive until Lichdragon Fortissax is dead.
  • Leave the red door behind Mohg, the Omen closed until the final boss is down.

How hard is the Elden Ring platinum and how long does it take?

PowerPyx rates it 6 to 7 out of 10, and the range is honest: Elden Ring has no difficulty slider, so the platinum is as hard as your level and build make it. Overleveling on runes is allowed and nothing in the trophy list punishes it.

Question Answer Source
Difficulty 6–7/10 PowerPyx
Time with a route 60–100 hours PowerPyx
Average platinum time of real players 173 hours Stratege, Oct 11, 2026
Trophies 42: 1 platinum, 3 gold, 14 silver, 24 bronze Stratege, PowerPyx
Online trophies 0 PowerPyx
Missable trophies 5 PowerPyx
Minimum playthroughs 1, with a save backup PowerPyx
PS4 → PS5 Saves transfer, trophies do not autopop PowerPyx

Where does the near-double gap come from? PowerPyx assumes you follow a route and back up saves. Stratege counts how its own users actually played, and most of them explored first and chased trophies later. Among Stratege users who own the game, 6,218 of 15,133 have the platinum, and the average completion is 53%.

Elden Ring roadmap: regions, bosses and endings in order

The order below follows the 12 steps of the PowerPyx roadmap, merged into stages by region. Each stage lists only what matters for trophies; the full trophy tables further down use the same stage numbers.

Stage Where Trophy bosses and tasks
1 Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula Margit, Leonine Misbegotten, Godrick; Roundtable Hold; activate Godrick's Great Rune at a Divine Tower
2 Liurnia, Academy of Raya Lucaria Red Wolf of Radagon, Rennala
3 Caria Manor Royal Knight Loretta; accept Ranni's quest, talk to Iji and Seluvis
4 Caelid, Siofra, Nokron Radahn; Mimic Tear, Valiant Gargoyle, Regal Ancestor Spirit, Ancestor Spirit; Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni; Cursemark of Death from the Divine Tower of Liurnia
5 Ainsel River, Lake of Rot Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella, Astel; meet Ranni at Cathedral of Manus Celes, take Dark Moon Greatsword
6 Altus Plateau, Mt. Gelmir Magma Wyrm Makar, Godskin Noble, Rykard, Elemer of the Briar
7 Leyndell Godfrey, Morgott, Mohg, the Omen; take Bolt of Gransax
8 Mountaintops, Haligtree Commander Niall, both medallion halves, Loretta of the Haligtree, Malenia, Mohg
9 Fire Giant to Farum Azula Fire Giant, Erdtree Aflame, Lichdragon Fortissax, Godskin Duo, Placidusax, Maliketh, Hoarah Loux
10 Final boss Back up the save, then three endings
11 Cleanup Missing legendaries, God-Slaying Armament, any boss you skipped

Two stages carry most of the risk. In stage 3 you start Ranni's quest, which feeds the Age of the Stars ending and also gives you the Cursemark of Death later needed for Fortissax. In stage 7 you beat Mohg, the Omen, and the path behind him leads to the red door of the Three Fingers. PowerPyx is blunt about it: walk away after the fight and come back only in stage 10.

Bosses you skip are not lost. PowerPyx confirms you can still reach every trophy boss after the ending, as long as you answer "No" to New Game+.

The 5 missable trophies and the save backup trick

Trophy When it closes How to avoid it
Elden Lord When you pick another ending Back up the save after Elden Beast
Age of the Stars When you pick another ending, or skip Ranni's quest Finish stages 3–5, back up before the ending
Lord of Frenzied Flame When you pick another ending Open the red door only after the final boss
Legendary Armaments Bolt of Gransax vanishes after Maliketh Take it in Leyndell; a co-op partner can drop it
Lichdragon Fortissax If you kill Fia before the boss Leave Fia alone in Deeproot Depths

The three endings come from one file like this:

  1. Beat Elden Beast and rest at the grace: do not touch the statue or the markings on the floor.
  2. Upload the save: Settings > Saved Data > upload to PS Plus cloud (PS5 and PS4) or copy to a USB drive (PS4 only). On PS5 switch off Auto-Sync Saved Data first, or the console can overwrite your backup.
  3. Ending one: use the statue for Elden Lord.
  4. Restore the backup: use Ranni's blue summon sign for Age of the Stars.
  5. Restore again: go to the altar behind Mohg, the Omen, finish the path, unequip all gear and open the red door. Then go back and use the statue for Lord of Frenzied Flame.

On PC the save lives in %AppData%\EldenRing; copy that folder before the ending. If Steam then asks which save to keep, our Steam Cloud conflict guide shows how to pick the right one.

Legendary items checklist

Four trophies ask for full legendary sets, and two of them can be shortcut with help from another player. PowerPyx confirms that armaments and talismans dropped by a co-op partner count, while ashes and spells must be found by you.

Set How many Can another player drop it? Watch out for
Legendary armaments 9 Yes Bolt of Gransax disappears from Leyndell
Legendary talismans 8 Yes Nothing missable
Legendary ashen remains 6 No Nothing missable
Legendary sorceries and incantations 7 No Nothing missable

Golden remembrance weapons you trade for boss remembrances do not count, even though they look legendary. Dark Moon Greatsword, which Ranni leaves behind in stage 5, does. For God-Slaying Armament you need one regular weapon at +25 or one somber weapon at +10; PowerPyx notes a free top-tier stone on the road to Malenia.

What usually goes wrong

Only one ending trophy after the credits. The game went straight into New Game+ or you picked an ending without a backup. Answer "No" to New Game+, and if the other endings are gone, play to the final boss again and back up this time.

The PS5 backup quietly matches your current save. Auto-sync uploaded the new save over your backup. Switch off Auto-Sync Saved Data before the upload in step 2 and check the timestamp in the cloud list.

Legendary Armaments stuck at 8 of 9. Bolt of Gransax was still in Leyndell when you beat Maliketh, and the capital is now ash. Ask a co-op partner to drop a copy, or pick it up early in New Game+.

Locked into Frenzied Flame. The red door was opened before the final boss. In this run only that ending is left, so restore an older backup if you have one.

PS4 progress did not appear on PS5. Elden Ring has no autopop. Your save carries over, but each trophy has to be earned again on the PS5 list.

How rare is the Elden Ring platinum? PSN vs Steam

On October 11, 2026, 10.9% of PlayStation players had the platinum according to Stratege, which labels it "very rare", and 10.5% of Steam players had the matching achievement. The numbers stay close all the way down the list, with one pattern: early bosses are more common on Steam. Margit sits at 61.3% on PSN and 70.9% on Steam, Godrick at 55.7% and 65.1%. The rarest ending on both platforms is Lord of Frenzied Flame, at 15.8% and 16.4%.

If you finish and want another long FromSoftware list, the Sekiro platinum guide needs two runs and harder parries; train them with the reaction time test. The Witcher 3 platinum guide is the slower, story-heavy option. Rank the bosses that broke you in the tier list maker, or let the random game picker choose the next platinum. Everything we keep on the game sits on the Elden Ring hub, console pages are on the PlayStation hub, and the full list is on the guides page.

FAQ

Can you get the Elden Ring platinum in one playthrough?

Yes. Back up your save after the final boss (PS Plus cloud on PS5 and PS4, or USB on PS4), then restore it twice to see all three endings from one file. PowerPyx builds its whole roadmap around this.

How long does it take to platinum Elden Ring?

PowerPyx estimates 60 to 100 hours with save backups. The average platinum time of Stratege users is 173 hours (October 11, 2026), so plan for more if you explore without a guide.

Which Elden Ring trophies are missable?

Five: Elden Lord, Age of the Stars and Lord of Frenzied Flame (one ending per run), Legendary Armaments (Bolt of Gransax disappears from Leyndell) and Lichdragon Fortissax (if you kill Fia first).

Do I need the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for the platinum?

No. Stratege lists 42 trophies, all of them from the base game, and the expansion adds none to the PSN list.

How rare is the Elden Ring platinum?

10.9% of PlayStation players have it according to Stratege, and 10.5% of Steam players have the matching achievement, both checked on October 11, 2026.

Does Elden Ring autopop trophies from PS4 to PS5?

No. PowerPyx confirms that saves transfer from PS4 to PS5, but trophies earned on PS4 do not pop on the PS5 list automatically.
