The Sekiro platinum takes two playthroughs if you back up your save, and four if you do not. This Sekiro platinum trophy guide covers all 34 trophies: no online, no difficulty settings, and 15 missable trophies that all hang on two decisions, the answer you give Owl at Ashina Castle and the choice you make with Kuro after the final boss. PowerPyx rates the list 7 out of 10 and puts it at 50+ hours; Stratege users average 165. Start by saving a backup before you talk to Kuro at the end of run one.

Short answer

  • Back up the save after Sword Saint Isshin and before you talk to Kuro; three endings come from that one file.
  • At Ashina Castle in run one, answer Owl with "Break the Iron Code. Stay loyal to Kuro".
  • Collect all minibosses and 6 Lapis Lazuli before you start New Game+.
  • In New Game+, back up before Owl, take the Shura ending, then reload for 4 more Lapis Lazuli.
  • Buy the remaining skills last; the platinum follows.

How hard is the Sekiro platinum?

Seven out of ten, by PowerPyx's rating, and nearly all of it is combat. Nothing in the list asks for a grind of hundreds of kills or a collectible hunt with a hundred items. What it asks is that you beat every boss, including the ones each ending locks away.

Difficulty 7/10 PowerPyx
Time to platinum 50+ hours, skill dependent PowerPyx
Average platinum time of real players 165 hours Stratege, Oct 11, 2026

Missable trophies 15 by name (PowerPyx header: 16) PowerPyx
Minimum playthroughs 2 with save backups, 4 without PowerPyx

The gap between 50 and 165 hours comes from the bosses. PowerPyx counts the time of a player who already handles the fights; the Stratege number covers everyone who reached the platinum, including people who spent an evening on one boss. Among Stratege users who own the game, 7,012 of 18,865 have the platinum, and the average completion is 48%.

Sekiro platinum roadmap: run one, save backup, New Game+

PowerPyx's roadmap (written with SnowNinjaRaccoon) has five steps. Here they are in our words, with the reasons behind each one.

Step What you do What it gives you
1 Play freely until Corrupted Monk (Ashina Depths) and Guardian Ape (Sunken Valley) After both fall, some Ashina Castle minibosses and their prayer beads become unavailable
2 Answer Owl at the castle with option 2, beat Sword Saint Isshin, back up, then take three endings One file gives Immortal Severance, Purification and Return
3 Clear all minibosses and 6 Lapis Lazuli, then start New Game+ at the Dilapidated Temple idol New Game+ carries skills, items and upgrades over
4 In New Game+, back up before Owl, pick option 1, take Shura Shura adds Isshin Ashina and completes Man Without Equal
5 Reload before Owl, choose Kuro, take 4 more Lapis Lazuli in Fountainhead Palace, buy the last skills Finishes the tool upgrades and Height of Technique

Step 1 is where most people lose time. Before you fight the Corrupted Monk and the Guardian Ape, run through the boss, prayer bead, gourd seed, prosthetic tool and combat style lists. PowerPyx also warns that the Loaded Spear tool becomes unreachable a little later in the story.

Step 2 needs two items for the Purification and Return endings, Everblossom and Frozen Dragon's Tears, which you collect on the Kuro route before the final boss. After the third ending, answer "No" when the game offers New Game+ and stay in free roam until the step 3 checklist is done.

The missable trophies: 16 by PowerPyx's count, 15 by name

PowerPyx's header lists 16 missable trophies, but the list contains "Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina", whose comma splits one name into two. Trophy by trophy, PowerPyx marks 15. All of them depend on routes, not on timing:

  • The four endings: Immortal Severance, Purification, Dragon's Homecoming (the Return ending) and Shura.
  • Locked by Shura: Ashina Traveler (you never reach Fountainhead Palace), Sword Saint Isshin Ashina, Great Shinobi Owl, Father Surpassed, Corrupted Monk, Gracious Gift of Tears, Demon of Hatred and Great Colored Carp.
  • Locked by the Kuro route: Isshin Ashina, who only appears on Shura.
  • Needs both routes: Man Without Equal, because no single route has every boss.
  • Tied to Purification: Peak Physical Strength; PowerPyx notes you must go for the Purification ending to max both stats.

Corrupted Monk deserves its own line. The trophy does not come from the first fight in Ashina Depths; it comes from the second, real Corrupted Monk in Fountainhead Palace, so it only pops on a Kuro route.

Four endings from two runs

Ending Trophy How you get it Run
Immortal Severance Immortal Severance Kuro choice after Sword Saint Isshin Run 1, from the backup
Purification Purification Kuro choice after Sword Saint Isshin, with its items Run 1, from the backup
Return Dragon's Homecoming Kuro choice after Sword Saint Isshin, with its items Run 1, from the backup
Shura Shura Option 1 to Owl at Ashina Castle New Game+, from a second backup

The backup itself on PS4 or PS5 is the same as in other games: Settings > Saved Data > upload to PS Plus cloud or copy to USB, and switch off automatic uploads for Sekiro so the console does not overwrite your copy. Between endings, copy the backup back and reload. On PC, copy your save folder before talking to Kuro; if Steam later shows a cloud conflict, our Steam Cloud conflict guide helps you keep the right file.

What usually goes wrong

Prayer beads stop adding up. You beat Corrupted Monk and Guardian Ape before clearing the Ashina Castle minibosses, and some of them are gone. Peak Physical Strength then has to wait for New Game+, so check the miniboss list before those two fights.

Corrupted Monk dead, no trophy. You killed the illusion in Ashina Depths. The trophy belongs to the real Corrupted Monk in Fountainhead Palace, which you only reach by staying loyal to Kuro.

New Game+ started before the cleanup. The game offers it right after the credits. Answer "No", finish the minibosses and the first 6 Lapis Lazuli, and start New Game+ yourself at the Dilapidated Temple idol.

Cloud backup overwritten. Automatic upload replaced your backup with the post-ending save. Turn off auto-upload for Sekiro before step 2, and check the save time in the cloud list before you continue.

Skill points run out at the end. Height of Technique needs every skill. PowerPyx suggests farming the same enemies late in the game, where each kill gives more experience; you can also test a skill tree on a backup and copy the old save back.

How rare is the Sekiro platinum?

On October 11, 2026, 10.7% of PlayStation players had the platinum according to Stratege, which labels it "very rare", and 9.9% of Steam players had the matching achievement. As with Elden Ring, PSN is slightly ahead of Steam here. Below the platinum, the rarest PSN trophies are the long ones: Height of Technique at 11.4%, Master of the Prosthetic at 12.8% and Man Without Equal at 14.0%. Among the endings, Purification is the rarest at 16.9%.

If the parries are what stops you, warm up with the reaction time test before a boss session. Our Elden Ring platinum guide is the friendlier FromSoftware list, with one run and an adjustable challenge through levels, and the Witcher 3 platinum guide trades bosses for a long story list. FAQ

How many playthroughs does the Sekiro platinum need?

Two if you back up your save, four if you do not. PowerPyx's route gets three endings from one backup in the first run and the Shura ending in New Game+.

How hard is the Sekiro platinum?

PowerPyx rates it 7 out of 10. The trophies themselves are simple; the bosses are the hard part, and there is no difficulty setting to lower.

How long does the Sekiro platinum take?

PowerPyx says 50 hours or more depending on skill. The average platinum time of Stratege users is 165 hours (October 11, 2026).

Which Sekiro trophies are missable?

PowerPyx's header says 16, but trophy by trophy it marks 15: the four ending trophies, Man Without Equal, Ashina Traveler, Peak Physical Strength and eight boss trophies tied to the routes.

How rare is the Sekiro platinum?

10.7% of PlayStation players have it according to Stratege, and 9.9% of Steam players have the matching achievement, both on October 11, 2026.

Can I get all endings in one playthrough?

Three of them. Immortal Severance, Purification and Return all come from the Kuro choice after the final boss, so one backup covers them. Shura needs the other answer to Owl, which PowerPyx leaves for New Game+.
