Valorant Sensitivity Guide: Pro eDPI, cm/360 and CS2 Conversion (2026)

How to pick a Valorant sensitivity that holds up: the eDPI range pros actually use, TenZ, aspas, Derke and f0rsakeN numbers, the CS2 to Valorant formula, and a 20-minute method to settle on yours.

A Valorant sensitivity is best chosen by eDPI (mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity), and the pro range is narrow: TenZ and Demon1 play at 160 eDPI, Derke at 296, aspas at 320, with f0rsakeN the high outlier at 570 (ProSettings, July to August 2026). If you come from CS2, divide your CS2 sensitivity by 3.18 to keep the same physical turn distance; CS2 2.0 at 800 DPI becomes Valorant 0.629. Start between 200 and 320 eDPI, confirm you can do a 180-degree turn in one swipe on your pad, then leave it alone for two weeks.

eDPI is the only number that transfers

The in-game slider means nothing on its own: 0.4 at 800 DPI and 0.2 at 1600 DPI are the same speed. eDPI puts both into one figure. The eDPI calculator does the multiplication and shows where you land against the pro range.

The number behind eDPI is cm/360, the distance your mouse travels for a full turn. Valorant's yaw is 0.07 degrees per mouse count at sensitivity 1, so cm/360 = 360 ÷ (0.07 × sensitivity × DPI) × 2.54. That formula is how the table below was built, and the cm per 360 calculator does it for any pair of numbers.

What the pros run (ProSettings, 2026)

Three observations. First, the spread is four to one between the slowest and the fastest of five world-class players, so there is no single "correct" value. Second, every one of them leaves scoped sensitivity at 1, which in Valorant means the same cm/360 when zoomed as unzoomed; there is no reason for you to touch it either. Third, the two 160-eDPI players are also the two 1600-DPI players, which brings up the next question.

High DPI + low sens, or low DPI + high sens?

Same eDPI, same turn. The August 2026 r/VALORANT thread on exactly this question got the clearest answer from u/QuitNearby1451: "It's better to downsize a large image than upsizing a small image." A higher DPI reports more, finer steps, and a low in-game multiplier scales them down; the reverse can skip pixels when you sweep, which u/formilles7 describes as the practical downside of low DPI with high sens.

How much does it matter? u/Drako__ in the same thread: plenty of pros "play on 400dpi with higher in game sens" and win, and Derke's 400 × 0.74 is the example in the table. u/Ketsueki_R in the July 2025 thread calls the latency and precision difference "so minor that it's unlikely to be meaningful even at the very highest levels of play". So: use 800 or 1600 (the two values u/pressured_at_19 calls usual), whichever you also want on the desktop, and stop worrying about it.

One real caution from u/SaltMaker23: an 8000 Hz polling rate "can make valorant unplayable on lower end setups as mouse movements cause frametime spikes", while 1000 Hz "is almost good on all setups". DPI is free; extreme polling is not.

Converting from CS2

Valorant's yaw is 0.07; CS2's is 0.022. The ratio is 3.18, so at the same DPI:

The sensitivity converter does the same with a different DPI on each side, which matters if you use one mouse profile per game. Valorant accepts three decimals, so round to that. Notice that CS2 rifler values land at 300 to 500 eDPI in Valorant, above most Valorant pros. u/sobranginitna's reasoning in the March 2026 thread explains the gap: Valorant is a tactical shooter, not an arena game, so precision matters more than speed. Treat the converted value as a ceiling and expect to drift a little lower.

Zoom is the one thing you do not convert. CS2 scales scoped sensitivity by FOV (zoom_sensitivity_ratio_mouse 1.0); Valorant's multiplier at 1 gives the same cm/360 as hipfire. Both defaults are what the pros use; leave them.

The two tests that settle it

The r/GlobalOffensive mouse wiki's "quick and dirty rules" were written for CS but are the cleanest test for any tactical shooter:

  1. Pixel test. In the range, put the crosshair on a distant head and try to move it one pixel at a time. If it jumps, your sensitivity is too high for the DPI; lower the in-game value or raise DPI.
  2. 180 test. From the centre of your pad, one swipe should turn you 180 degrees with room to spare. The wiki puts the comfortable range at 12 to 30 cm for a 180, meaning roughly 24 to 60 cm per 360, on a pad of about 30 cm.

u/Freshly-Juiced puts the second test bluntly in the March 2026 thread: "if your sens is so low you can't swipe a quick 180, it's putting you at a huge disadvantage", and advises a desk-sized pad if you insist on a very low value. The author of that thread plays 80 eDPI (163 cm per 360) and feels precise but slow on turns; the replies split between "get a bigger pad" and "raise it a little". Both are right; what nobody suggested was staying at 80 with a small pad.

A 20-minute method

  1. Set Windows pointer speed to 6/11 and turn off Enhance pointer precision; in Valorant keep Raw Input Buffer on (TenZ and aspas both have it on by ProSettings data).
  2. Pick a DPI: 800 or 1600.
  3. Set the in-game value for 260 eDPI (0.325 at 800, 0.1625 at 1600). That sits between Derke and aspas and above TenZ.
  4. Five minutes of deathmatch. If you overshoot heads on small corrections, drop by 10 percent. If you cannot turn on a flank, raise by 10 percent.
  5. Repeat once. Then stop. Write the number down.
  6. Two weeks later, measure. Use the aim trainer for a consistent score, not a ranked game where the enemy quality varies.

u/obviousBurnerdurr's comment in the March 2026 thread is the honest description of the last step: 0.17 felt too slow, 0.18 too fast, 0.178 "was the Goldilocks", probably placebo, and they have played it for a year. The value matters less than sticking to it.

Common mistakes

Changing sens after a bad night. The r/GlobalOffensive competitive wiki's "inconsistency don'ts" say it directly: the first thing inconsistent players do is change resolution or sensitivity, and it rarely helps. u/MrSwisherland in the 2025 thread says the same about Valorant: "it was never your sens", it was positioning, timing and awareness.

Copying a pro's number without the pad. TenZ's 160 eDPI is 82 cm per 360. On a 30 cm pad that is not playable. Copy the pro whose pad size and grip match yours, or copy nobody.

Using mouse acceleration to fix a low sens. u/Wh0raTheExplora reached Immortal on 130 eDPI with a custom acceleration curve because of limited desk space. It can work, but it is a second variable to learn; try a bigger pad or a slightly higher value first.

Converting scoped sensitivity separately. Leave it at 1 in Valorant. Every pro in the table does.

FAQ

What is a good eDPI for Valorant?

Most pros sit between roughly 160 and 320 eDPI by ProSettings data: TenZ and Demon1 at 160, Derke at 296, aspas at 320. Outliers exist in both directions (f0rsakeN at 570). For a new player 200 to 320 is the range to start in; go lower only if you have a large pad and use your arm.

How do I convert my CS2 sensitivity to Valorant?

Divide by 3.18 if the DPI stays the same: CS2 uses a yaw of 0.022 degrees per count, Valorant 0.07. CS2 2.0 becomes Valorant 0.629; CS2 1.5 becomes 0.471. Our converter does it with different DPI on each side.

Is 800 DPI or 1600 DPI better for Valorant?

At the same eDPI they turn the same distance. 1600 DPI sends finer steps, which avoids skipped pixels at very low in-game values; the difference is small enough that pros win on both. Pick the DPI you also use on the desktop and set the in-game value to hit your target eDPI.

What sensitivity do Valorant pros use in 2026?

Should I change my sensitivity when I lose?

No. Changing sensitivity resets muscle memory, and the r/GlobalOffensive wiki's warning applies to Valorant too: players who feel inconsistent change settings first, when the cause is usually elsewhere. Pick a value, keep it for at least two weeks, and measure with an aim trainer rather than by feel.
