How to use

1. Type your name in the field. This is the base you'll decorate — keep it short so frames still fit the game's limit.
2. Click a symbol in any category. It is inserted at the cursor position, so put the cursor at the start for a prefix or at the end for a suffix.
3. Frames come as pairs (꧁ ꧂, ༺ ༻, 『 』): click the left half, move the cursor to the end, click the right half.
4. Check the counter: Free Fire allows 12 characters, PUBG Mobile 14, Standoff 2 16. Most symbols count as 1, but a frame pair is 2.
5. Copy the result and paste it into the game. If it comes back with a symbol missing, the game filtered it — swap it for one from the "safe" group.

Symbol categories, with the ones that pass game filters

"Safe" here means two things at once: the symbol sits inside the Basic Multilingual Plane, so nearly every phone has a font for it, and it appears in community test lists for Free Fire and PUBG Mobile as accepted. Standoff 2 has no published list — its filter removes "unusual" characters automatically — so treat anything beyond the frames, stars and CJK rows as "check in game" there.

Which symbols turn into squares — and why

A □ next to your name on a friend's screen is a missing glyph, not a broken nickname. Every device ships a set of fonts; if none of them contains the symbol, the renderer draws a placeholder. The rows marked Safe above live in blocks that Android, iOS and Windows have covered since the early 2010s. The risky rows either need emoji fonts (which games often disable in names) or come from blocks so new or so obscure — Egyptian hieroglyphs, Tai Viet, Cham — that only recent flagship phones render them.

A second cause is the game itself: engines like Unity ship a font atlas with a limited character set, and anything outside it is drawn as □ in the kill-feed even though your phone shows it fine in the lobby. This is why CS2 shows some Steam names with boxes. There's no fix from your side except choosing symbols from the safe list.

How to type these on a phone

You don't: no mobile keyboard has ꧁ or 亗 on it. The workflow is copy and paste. Build the name here, tap Copy, open the game, long-press the name field, choose Paste. On Android the clipboard survives switching apps; on iOS it does too, but some games open their own text input on the first tap — paste into that. If the game shows the pasted name but drops a symbol on save, it filtered it — come back and swap the symbol, not the whole name.

Two tricks: Gboard and the iOS keyboard let you add a text shortcut (Settings → Keyboard → Text replacement) so typing "ff1" expands to your full decorated name; and a note in any notes app makes a fine personal symbol bank for later.

All of these stay within 12 characters when the name is 6 letters or fewer — the practical ceiling for a decorated Free Fire name.
